Police chasing new leads in Norman murder | Crime
NORMAN, Okla. – Norman police continue their search for a killer.
Wednesday police found a man shot to death inside his burning home.
Norman police are now releasing the pictures of four people they’d like to question.
At this point they’re only being called “persons of interest” and not suspects but police said they have reason to think they may shed some light on the murder.
“We believe they may have a connection to this case,” Norman police Capt. Tom Easley said.
Just a few hours before the body of 51-year-old Patrick Burton was found dead, Norman police claim four people attempted to use the victim’s credit card at a local casino.
Capt. Easley reiterates the people shown in the casino are not considered suspects but it is suspicious they allegedly tried to use the victim’s credit card the morning of the death.
“Any reasonable person would say there could be a connection there,” he said.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to connect the dots on that one.”
Also this week investigators released a picture of the victim’s very distinctive pickup truck.
Someone drove that truck away from the home and police are still looking for that driver.
Anyone with information can call the Norman police department.
