Donation drive for starved, abused horses

NORMAN, Okla. – A donation drive is scheduled this weekend for dozens of animals seized in an animal cruelty investigation.

It was last Saturday when more than 60 horses were rescued from a Seminole County pasture; 30 others were found dead.

Dozens of cows, dogs, goats and other animals were also removed.

The owner, Carolyn Vaughn, was arrested. Horse donations

Her animals were farmed out to various rescue organizations including Blaze’s Tribute Equine Rescue in Jones.

Now Woof Animal Rescue and ACTOK are collecting supplies for those organizations. They will be at the Atwood’s on Highway 9 in Norman, this Saturday.

They’re asking for donations like dog food, treats, toys, flea and tick protection.

They also need fly traps, buckets and horse treats.

Monetary contributions are also welcome.
